Clems Melbourne Clinches AFL’s Creative Account

Clemenger BBDO Melbourne has been announced as the creative agency of record for the Australian Football League (AFL), following a competitive pitch.

The agency’s creative remit includes the delivery of a new brand platform, the AFL’s 2018 season launch campaign, marketing of marquee rounds, the finals series, and activities to help grow NSW and Queensland audiences.

Julian Dunne, head of marketing and insights at the AFL, said: “We are delighted to be working with Clemenger BBDO Melbourne and are looking forward to launching our new creative platform for the 2018 season.

“We have such a passionate fan base, and after record audiences in 2017, we have big ambitions for the year ahead with some work in the pipeline that’s going to help us achieve them.”

Clems Melbourne managing director Simon Lamplough said: “To be working with such an iconic Melbourne brand as it continues to grow nationally is a great honour for the agency.

“We’ve really enjoyed working with Julian and his team and we are excited about making an impact on Australia’s most popular sporting code.”

Clems takes over from incumbent agency Cummins&Partners on the account.
