News Corp Announces Finalists For Cannes Young Lions Competition

Australia’s brightest young media, marketing and creative talent are one step closer to representing their country on the world stage after News Corp Australia named the shortlisted finalists for the 2017 Australian Cannes Young Lions competition.

A group of over 80 industry judges across Australia have determined the finalists who will now go onto the second and final round of the competition where shortlisted finalists in print, media, young marketer and cyber categories will receive a 24-hour brief, emulating the international competition format in Cannes.

News Corp Australia’s CMO, Tony Phillips said: “News Corp’s Young Lions Competition is now in its seventh year and 2017’s talent is better than ever.

“The Young Lions Boot Camp running next week will see our finalists receive hands on training tailored to their category as well as a team building experience. I wish all finalists the very best of luck.”

The final round of the competition will commence on Tuesday May 9 for all categories.

Teams will attend a three-day Young Lions Boot Camp held at News Corp Australia’s head office in Surry Hills. The winning and runner up teams in each category will be announced next Thursday evening, 11 May, 2017.

The winning teams in the final round will receive return flights to Nice in France, accommodation and Cannes Lions festival registration and will represent Australia in the international Young Lions competition.
