Argentinian Creative Duo Among A String Of New Hires For DDB Sydney

DDB Sydney has announced it has expanded its creative team through a number of new appointments with an international flavour.

Argentinian creatives Nicolas Smith (pictured above, centre) and Damian Martinez (pictured above, left) join the creative agency as senior art director and senior copywriter respectively.

Both born and raised in Buenos Aires, Smith and Martinez became a team back in early 2013 at Ogilvy Argentina. They then moved to BBDO and later to Wunderman.

Canadian art director Alex Newman also joins DDB, who previously worked for over three years as a senior art director at J. Walter Thompson.

Sian Binder (pictured above, right) and Dave Govier join DDB as creative partners on the McDonald’s account.

Binder was previously the head of art at Ogilvy Sydney, while Govier most recently freelanced at The Monkeys, Leo Burnett and Cummins&Partners after returning to Sydney from Saatchi & Saatchi London.

DDB Sydney chief creative officer Ben Welsh said he was excited to welcome the new creatives to his team.

“DDB Sydney is growing in a very deliberate way,” he said.

“Our focus on diversity across the board, including getting more women into creative and management roles, continues to attract top class international and home-grown talent, and means we continue to deliver standout work for our clients.”
