Ten Unveils Latest Bachelor For 2017 Series

Network Ten has announced that 29-year-old marketing director and part-time model Matty Johnson is its new bachelor for its upcoming 2017 season of The Bachelor Australia.

Johnson is already well versed in the show’s format – having been a runner-up contestant in last year’s The Bachelorette.

Johnson will reportedly pocket a cool $200,000 for his appearance on the show.

Ten is yet to confirm a launch date for the series, however, has confirmed it will again be hosted by Osher Günsberg and is a partnership with Warner Bros. International Television Production Australia.

Johnson said of his elevation to TV stud muffin: “I feel so privileged that I’ve been given the opportunity to be The Bachelor. Without question, the most exciting part is the chance to meet the girl I’m going to spend the rest of my life with.”

And apparently he’s not just in it for the cash and 15 minutes of fame. “I’m so excited about the prospect of settling down. Timing is such a crucial factor when it comes to making this commitment and I know wholeheartedly, that there’s nothing I want more,” Johnson said.
