Adobe Releases Spate Of Updates To Photoshop, New Products

Adobe has today announced a slate of new updates to Photoshop CC, and new releases of Project Felix and Adobe XD.

Photoshop CC now features custom support for Apple’s Touch Bar on the MacBook Pro. First, the Touch Bar is useful for surfacing a contextual “next step”. This is helpful both for a beginner who might not know how to navigate Photoshop, and for an experienced user in giving them speedier access to the desired next action.

Second, the Touch Bar is useful for accessing controls in a new way, especially controls that were sometimes clumsy with a keyboard and mouse.

In designing the interaction with the Touch Bar, Adobe imagined three distinct categories of functions that would be useful to our customers: Layer Properties, Brushes, and (true to Photoshop’s ethos) your customisable Favourites.

Debuted at Adobe MAX 2016, the first beta of Project Felix is available today for those with a paid CC membership. Project Felix enables graphic designers to create high quality, photo-realistic images for projects including product shots, product design, scene visualisation and concept mock-ups.

The first public beta release of Adobe XD for Windows is now available for download, representing the first step toward bringing users an end-to-end solution for UX design that is tailor-made for Windows 10. For more information on XD for Windows, visit the Creative Cloud blog.
