Is Karl Stefanovic’s Ex-Wife Joining Seven’s Sunrise?

Just when you thought the rivalry between Nine and Seven couldn’t get any nastier, there are reports that the estranged wife of TODAY host Karl Stefanovic is looking to get a gig on rival breakfast program Sunrise.

According to news.com.au, Woman’s Day reports that Cassandra Thorburn wants to re-ignite her journalism career and is currently in talks with Sunrise.

“Seven execs are frothing at the prospect of employing Cass,” Woman’s Day quotes a network insider as saying.

“There have been conversations with execs at Seven, and they’re talking about giving her a pivotal role.

“Cass was a hugely successful TV producer before she gave it all up to raise Karl’s kids, and Seven knows she’d be a valuable asset.”

Seven declined to comment on the matter when approached by news.com.au.

The reports come only days after Seven and Nine settled an ugly court case over TV ratings.
