Watch The Harrowing Second Installment Of Refugees’ Plight ‘Second A Day’ Video

The second video from Save the Children about the traumatic experience refugees go through has already clocked up more than 50 thousand views on YouTube since being released on Monday.

The two minute video is the second piece of content from the charity organisation intended to demonstrate the horrors many refugees are faced with. It features the same British girl from the first video.

The video was created by creative content agency in the UK Don’t Panic London.

It picks up where the first video left off, as a hypothetical war breaks out over London. This time the young girl encounters the horrors of being pulled from her mother and having to escape on a boat without her. She finds a young boy to care for, but he too is ripped from her on her birthday.

The first video was unleashed in March 2014 and was named one of the most popular YouTube videos in June of that year since Cannes 2013.

It has since been viewed more than 53 million times.

“This video captures the terrible experiences of thousands of children every day, many undertaking horrific journeys that no one should ever have to endure,” said Tanya Steele, interim CEO of Save the Children, of the second video.

“We wanted to bring home the reality of what it’s like for those children, to capture the British public’s attention.

“Lily’s journey is like those of hundreds of thousands of other child refugees searching fora better life.

“This is a generation of children who have lost everything- their home, their education, their family and in some cases their lives. Save the Children is calling for more support for children fleeing these conflict zones. We want a new deal for refugees, to ensure every child gets an education, protection and a fair start in life.

“Unless the international community provides safe and legal routes to families fleeing war and persecution, children will continue to undertake dangerous journeys in search of safety.”
