Past 30 Under 30 Winners On Their Best Career Achievements This Year
Nearly a year has flown by since 30 media types heard the applause of their peers atop the stage at the B&T 30 Under 30 Awards.
Since then, some of them had amazing career achievements. In celebration of B&T 30 Under 30 we asked what the biggest achievement has been for them in the past 12 months.
Ben McInerney, Digital Director, MediaCom
Either winning the Sony Mobile pitch or rolling out a trading desk for my client.
Jessica Hunter, Commercial Manager at Daily Mail Australia
Daily Mail Australia moved from #13 to #5 Australian News site, after only being in market for 12 months. The commercial strategy we executed over the 12 months allowed us to reach revenue targets and move on to the next market phase for the Australian team.
We’re expanding into our own offices, increasing our headcount and over the next 12 months will be putting some really exciting offerings in market.
I was also privileged to attend the 2015 Cannes Lions Festival (always a goal of mine). Not only was I witness to a number of inspiring talks and seminars by those best in their field, but my network grew exponentially. I continue to stay in touch with a number of professionals from other markets and apply their experiences and knowledge to build on the achievements for Daily Mail Australia in 2016.
Kate Gamble, Director, Resolution Media (Omnicom)
I have been pegged to move into a general manager position from March this year within my company Resolution Media, and at the same time am part of a huge overhaul of the digital businesses within Omnicom under the new brand Annalect, enabling me to practice my leadership and strategic business skills.
My client Priceline managed to take home “best in Search” at the AC&E awards thanks to some very innovative work performed by my team to reduce menial tasks and increase ROI.
In 2015 my team delivered one million dollars in business revenue over our forecast target (a 30 per cent overachievement) and grew the client base significantly.
Outside of the office I have also started a global volunteer project to share internet marketing skills with SMBs. Since November 2015 I have gathered a team of eight professionals who will volunteer their time, and have over 200 Health and Wellbeing businesses registered to be part of the project in order to help get positive information about food, nutrition, exercise, meditation, self care at work and other helpful and healthy content ‘out there’ online for people in the world to see. It is called WAP (Web Authority Project) and is designed to help educate people about common lifestyle related diseases which are preventable and will save billions in healthcare down the track if people can be educated to make the right choices.”
Vuki Vujasinovic, Founder and CEO, Sling & Stone
My biggest career victory in the past year has been the rapid growth of Sling & Stone. We’ve doubled in size in the last twelve months to 20 people, and I’m immensely proud of how we’ve been able to grow while maintaining the culture, passion, and ambition that defined our early work.
Melody Hyndman, PR Manager, Movember Foundation
Running the PR campaign for Movember last year – my largest campaign to date with activity spread primarily over two months and resulting in 3,500 media clips and a reach of 56 million. I also launched a global podcast for the Movember Foundation called Movember Radio.
Ryan Beck, General Manager, Upside.Digital
Growing our company’s revenue by 110 per cent, whilst maintaining a 0 per cent staff turnover rate.
Heather Marano, Director, Heather Marano Freelance Consulting
Building my team to three people.
Nick Thomas, Manager, MediaCom
30 under 30!
Scott Nolan, Digital Art Director, LEGO – Denmark
Landing a job at LEGO.
Allister Hercus, Strategist, MEC
Leading a team interstate to secure a $30million client.
Business Manager, Maxus Sydney
Being given the opportunity to run my own account.
Cyrus Rafizadeh, co-founder / director, Elite Marketing
Advancing our patent portfolio and establishing strategic partnerships with other industry players internationally.
Kate McMahon, Sales Director Nine Entertainment Co.
Being promoted to sales director of Nine Entertainment Co. Perth.
Simon Williams, Head of Global & Local Media Partnerships, The Dentsu Aegis Network
I was promoted in November to a group level role, responsible now for the entire networks media partnerships. Ultimately now faced with planning product and roadmaps with our key vendors to the value of $1 billion+. I was also a finalist at the ADMA young marketer of the year awards, something I am equally proud of.
