Sex And The City Star Mistaken As Canadian PM’s Mum On US Telly

America has done it again, with last night’s US 60 Minutes airing a segment dedicated to the progressive new Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, with just one teeny error.

The program included a picture of the proud Trudeau parents, back in their heyday, but oh wait, no, that’s a photograph of Kim Cattrall, AKA Samantha Jones from Sex and the City.

At least Kim found it amusing.

The photo was taken in 1981, and shows a 20-something Cattrall, who in fact grew up in British Columbia, out and about with Justin’s father, the then Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau.

They were allegedly involved in a little fling together, following the Trudeau’s separation in 1977, but no, dear Sam Jones is not Justin’s baby mama.

60 Minutes quickly apologised, releasing a statement saying, “We regret the error on one of the several video and still images shown of Margaret Trudeau”.

The Internet is having a good chuckle about it all, calling to have Cattrall’s face put on the Canadian $20 note.

And in case you were wondering, this is what mother Trudeau actually looked like back in the day, when she was famously snapped letting her hair down at Studio 54, proving Canada really is kicking ass it with its cool politicians.
