The Works Ups Its Staff By Three, Nabbing Former Clems BBDO Digital Head

Independent agency The Works has hired three senior digital specialists, including Clemenger BBDO Sydney’s head of digital production, as part of a continued investment in digital and creative technology.

The appointments come as pharmaceutical giant Glaxo Smith Kline handed the independent Sydney agency digital duties for its Panadol, Children’s Panadol and Panadol Osteo range, following a multi-agency pitch.

In a newly created role, Dave Flanagan joins as head of digital production. Before starting at The Works he held the same position at Clemenger BBDO for two years after being promoted from senior digital producer. While at the Omnicom-owned agency, he was part of the team that created the multi award winning Skittles Telekinize the Rainbow – an interactive installation allowing users to move real world Skittles using their eyes and a webcam.

Also joining the agency is Dave Ganley as creative technologist. Ganley, who started his career as an art director, was the former technical director at Naked, Bellamy Hayden and Publicis Digital and for the past three years has been consulting for agencies including VML, Holler, Moon Communications and The Conscience Organisation.

Rounding out the new hires is Kimberlie Sanders. She previously worked for Arnold Worldwide, SapientNitro and Digitas LBi in her native United States and joins The Works as senior designer, digital art director.

Damian Pincus, founder and creative partner at The Works said: “We have been investing in attracting the best digital talent we can find as more clients demand creative ways to engage with audiences across digital platforms. The two Daves and Kim have experience of working on some of the most progressive ideas when it comes to digital creativity and technological innovation and we’re delighted they’ll be working with our clients such as GSK, Optus and Jim Beam.

“But we’re not finished. We plan to add more digital expertise in the coming months as demand for our digital offering increases and we want to hear from anyone who would like to join our rapidly growing agency.”
