Mango Communications Appoints Rhian Mason As Head Of Social And Content

Mango Communications has hired Rhian Mason as head of social and content across its Sydney and Melbourne offices.

Mason will expand on the already successful social and influencer work Mango delivers for clients, including Unilever, McDonald’s Australia, Wella, Coles and Johnson&Johnson.

She joins from IPG Mediabrands where she led social and influencer strategies for Amazon, Pernod Ricard, Converse, Tourism Australia, Carlsberg, Wesfarmers, Johnson&Johnson, Spotify and more.

Additionally, Mango has made two more appointments with Jessica Dunne joining as a Senior Account Director and Barton Zaia as Senior Account Manager.

Dunne previously worked at eharmony as PR and Communications Manager, also holding roles at FleishmanHillard and Bang PR. She assumes a leadership role across some of the agency’s biggest clients, including Unilever.

Zaia was most recently at CHE Proximity Melbourne. In his new role, Zaia will work on the McDonald’s account and be a key driver of all activity across consumer communications, corporate communications and CSR.

Mason said: “I’m very pleased to be joining Mango Communications and the wider DDB Group. There are huge opportunities for me to add value across the business.”

Mango MD Tabitha Fairbairn said: “Rhian’s appointment is reflective of the increasing need for social and content to be seamlessly integrated into communications campaigns; this allows us to create more effective work than ever. Her background in media agencies further diversifies the expertise in the agency.

“Mango is continuing to attract brilliant talent as is evident in the appointments Rhian, Jess and Barton.”

These hires follow a huge year for Mango Communications with a raft of new clients and new hires including group business director Angela McCann and senior sponsorship manager Sophie Robert joining the team in the last four months.
