Magazine Cover About ‘Women’s March On Washington’ Made One Giant Mistake

Express Magazine, a free magazine published by The Washington Post, made a big mistake on its front cover about the historic Women’s March on Washington which will occur the day after Trump is inaugurated as President of the United States.

Express said the Women’s March protest is “expected to be the largest rally linked to the inauguration”, with an estimated 150,000 people set to attend.

However the cover had one major design flaw: it depicted people forming the Mars symbol (♂) which represents men, rather than the Venus symbol (♀) for women.

According to organisers, the protest will send a message to the Trump administration on their first day in office, and to the world that women’s rights are human rights. “We stand together, recognising that defending the most marginalized among us is defending all of us. We call on all defenders of human rights to join us.

“This march is the first step towards unifying our communities, grounded in new relationships, to create change from the grassroots level up. We will not rest until women have parity and equity at all levels of leadership in society. We work peacefully while recognizing there is no true peace without justice and equity for all”.

Express quickly deleted the tweet, as well as issuing an apology with the correct cover:

Unfortunately, Twitter never forgets:
