Celebrating Player Jumps Advertising Hoarding, Mistakenly Plummets Three Metres

A goalscoring celebration has turned dangerously and hilariously wrong after the player misjudged the rather long drop behind the advertising hoarding.

Brazilian striker Anderson Lopes was playing for Japanese club side Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo when he popped one into the back of the net to give his team a 3-1 lead over rivals Shimizu S-Pulse at the Sapporo Dome early in the second-half.

However, the 25-year-old’s jubilation quickly looked like a trip to the casualty ward after he jumped an advertising hoarding, only to quickly discover a three-metre drop onto concrete below.

Things looked grim for Lopes has he writhed in pain on the ground, as team doctors and teammates ran to his aid.

Thankfully, Lopes escaped with only a bruised ego – alongside worldwide social media fame – and was able to rejoin the game after escaping any injury from his misguided tumble.

In even more excellent news, Lopes’ team won the match 5-2, with the clumsy Brazilian slotting home three goals! Now there’s a match to remember.
