The managing director of McCann’s Melbourne office, Anita Deutsch-Burley, has quit after less than a year in the role.

Deutsch-Burley joined McCann Melbourne from GPY&R in July 2015 as executive director, before being promoted to general manager eight months later, and then to managing director in October last year.

While Deutsch-Burley resigned from the creative agency in August, B&T understands she made the decision to leave prior to the arrival of McCann Australia CEO Nicole Taylor, who was appointed to replace Ben Lilley in April.

McCann confirmed Deutsch-Burley’s departure to B&T, but declined to comment any further.

B&T understands the agency has already found its new Melbourne MD, and is set to announce Deutsch-Burley’s replacement in the next day or two.

Earlier this month, McCann confirmed the departure of Sydney MD Adam Lee, as Taylor looks to mould the agency into something new.
