Close to 700 Facebookers are venting their fury after missing out on the opportunity to secure one of 10 Jeep Cherokee Longitudes for just $10K drive away.

Jeep launched the unique campaign – The World’s Most Remote Dealership – at the end of last month via TV, digital and social, urging users to participate by downloading the Jeep App. In order to be in the running, users has to register their details this morning (July 10) by 8:59 AEST. The Jeep App instructions then suggest registered users will gain access to the location of the Remote Dealership, their distance from it and a contact number. With this information, it’s the first 10 people who call the provided number, commit to buying the Cherokee Longitude and arrive at the faraway dealership on July 26 who will drive away in the vehicle valued at $45,000 for $10K.

145 Facebook users have so far joined the group If You Think The JEEP Give Away Was a Scam and are outraged by the apparent glitches in the App which have prevented them from buying the discounted gas guzzler.

Very uncool Jeep Australia, very unfair for most of the people that really want and waited legitimately. But, oh well, there you go more people will be unwilling to buy or even to consider buying one now.

– Steve Budi

What a huge scam I never got a number and when my son did he only got beeps.

– Lynn Burkitt

Many of the participants have urged each other to report the “scam” to the ACCC – Australia’s consumer watchdog.

B&T is patiently waiting to hear back from Jeep Australia and the ACCC.
