The team at Webprofits proudly joined the mustachioed ranks of Mo Bros (and supportive Mo Sisters) for Movember.
Tam Al-Saad, Head of Growth for Webprofits led the charge internally, accepting a pink and blonde double-mustache challenge and organizing the companywide fund-raising effort for Men’s Health.
When asked how he arrived at this unique facial hair configuration, Tam said, “I’ve been doing this for more than 10 years, so needed to find a way to keep people interested. This year I let my friends and family decide the style by donating with the choice going to the highest donation. A few of my mates pooled together and decided to make it pink and blonde just to stitch me up.”
“At Webprofits, we take mental health very seriously. We have two mental health days per year and we encourage team members to make use of these (at their own discretion) in addition to their holidays every year. This year has been a challenge for many people the world over, and we really felt for our friends, colleagues, and families in Melbourne in particular. Movember is a chance for us to show support to our team and our my-pharm-blog.com,” said Paul Sprokkreeff, Managing Director of Webprofits.
Webprofits set a goal of $10,000 and has well surpassed the halfway mark and raised nearly $7,000 with less than two weeks to go.
“It was great that everyone gets together to raise awareness and contributions for Movember and for Men’s Health every year,” Tam said. “I’m proud of the team for showing this unity and support for each other and for men’s mental and physical health everywhere. Going into the second half of the month, we are on target to meet our goal of raising $10,000.”
This is the 4th year that Webprofits has participated as a team in Movember.
Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men’s health on a global scale. The charity raises funds to deliver innovative, breakthrough research and support programs that enable men to live happier, healthier and longer lives. Committed to disrupting the status quo, millions have joined the movement, helping fund over 1,250 projects focusing on mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
In addition to tackling key health issues faced by men, Movember is working to encourage men to stay healthy in all areas of their life, with a focus on men staying socially connected and becoming more open to discussing their health and significant moments in their lives.
