Verizon Media has today announced nominations are now open for the 2020 edition of its exclusive industry talent education program, Verizon Media Academy.
Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, the academy returns with a renewed program designed to inspire and develop the emerging generation of industry leaders.
This year’s event will be spread across two days featuring an extensive agenda including in-depth education sessions, speakers and an exciting revamped pitch-off challenge that will see the winning team attend an all-expenses-paid trip to Advertising Week in New York.
Created as a part of Verizon Media’s company-wide commitment to invest in talent whilst adding value to the future of the industry, the event provides attendees with the skills to build their personal brand to succeed.
Past speakers have included Atlassian’s Workplace Futurist, Dominic Price, co-founder of Vitae.Coach, Shelley Laslett, and co-founder of The Impossible Institute, Dan Gregory.
Call for nominations are now open across Australia and New Zealand, with senior agency leaders asked to nominate individuals they consider within their top 5 percent, with one to seven years of digital industry experience.
Commenting on the announcement, Verizon Media managing director ANZ Paul Sigaloff [feature image] said the initiative was a real testament to Verizon Media’s commitment to nurturing future talent within the industry.
“Discovering, nurturing and encouraging great talent across all areas of the digital media and advertising ecosystem is crucial to the future of our industry, and something I personally feel incredibly passionate about.
“We created the Verizon Media Academy as a way to recognise and offer a helping hand to those rising stars who demonstrate the passion to further their careers. I’m very excited to be involved again in 2020 and look forward to building upon the incredible success of last year’s event with an even bigger and better program,” he added.
