There’s no doubting Trump’s decision to build his infamous wall on the Mexican border is a dangerous idea indeed.
And a Fox News TV journalist covering the story thought things could so dodgy, he turned up to do his live cross in a bulletproof vest.
Reporter Lawrence Jones was on the US-side of the border in Texas interviewing US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials when he tweeted a picture of himself in the bullet-stopping garb.
As these things so quickly do, Jones was soon roasted on social media for his attire, namely by other journalists who’d not only reported from the Mexican border but also in war zones where they’d not bothered with any sort of protection.
While activists claimed it was just another way that Fox News – known for its pro-Trump leanings – was creating fear mongering around immigration from South America.
In his defence, Jones countered the attack with the tweet: “Border patrol made me wear it. Now, who’s the fool?”
