Tuesday TV Wrap: MasterChef Eats Big Brother’s Lunch (But Seven Hangs On For The Win)

Seven’s Big Brother continued to enjoy good numbers with last night’s episode reaching an eviction high of 842,000, but it wasn’t enough to stop 10’s MasterChef going back over the million-mark.

The stalwart cooking show managed an impressive 1.016 million viewers  according to OzTAM metro numbers and easily won “most eyeballs in the entertainment category”.

But it was Seven who arguably had the last laugh winning Tuesday night with 28.6 per cent audience share (all channels). Nine was second and 24.4 per cent, 10 did 21.6 per cent, the ABC had 15.7 per cent and SBS fell just shy of double-figures with 9.6 per cent.

In the battle of the 6pm news bulletins, Seven (1.170 million) beat Nine’s (1.111 million). ACA did 807,000.

Seven also did well with Home And Away (666,000) and The Chase (634,000).

Nine’s best non-news effort was Hot Seat (616,000) and then yet another repeat of Kath & Kim (389,000).

10’s other standouts included The Project (572,000), 10 News First (409,000) and How To Stay Married (407,000).

Over at the ABC its Tuesday ran thus: 7pm news (800,000), 7.30 (530,000), Foreign Correspondent (413,000) and Australia’s Ocean Odyssey: A Journey Down The Australian East Coast (402,000).
