triple j Announces Return Of Listener Request Requestival

Youth station triple j has announced the return of Requestival. For one whole week, our music will be chosen by the listeners.

triple j want those songs you turn TF up – the nostalgic throwbacks, pump-up playlists, so-bad-they’re-good bangers, beloved classics and everything in between.

Last year saw more than 80,000 requests ranging from Julia Gillard’s iconic misogyny speech, ‘Not Now, Not Ever’; every horse girl’s favourite, The Saddle Club theme song; and a core memory for any kid born in the 90’s with the song from the ‘You Wouldn’t Steal a Car’ ad.

And next week, we’re ready to do it all again. From 6am-10pm, Monday 26 September until Friday 30 September, every song you hear will be programmed by one of our listeners.

Download or update the triple j app and make your requests from this Wednesday!

Remember, you’ll be controlling the queue, so make sure the song you request is something people are gonna turn up. We want the tunes that you belt out in the shower or the ones you blast on a road trip with your mates. The songs that wake you up for a 4am shift and the bangers that get you through the day.

Requests will be open from Wednesday 21 September, plenty of time to download or update the triple j app. Then tune in all next week to hear us play your songs.
