Today Extra’s Festive Instagram Post Gets Taken Hostage By Anti-Vaxxers

It’s been a long year of vaccine conversations and disagreements and Today Extra accidentally caught the attention of anti-vaxxers with a festive Instagram post.

It kicked off over a rather innocent-looking photo posted on Today’s gram that featured Sylvia Jeffreys and David Campbell at the iconic Today Desk with the caption, “Only 18 sleeps until Christmas! What are you asking Santa for?”

Innocent right? No mention of the pandemic or vaccines. Yet the post bought all the anti-vaxers to the yard.

The Daily Mail reported the post got bombarded with comments from anti-vaxxers.

The Daily Mail reported one user wrote: “A non-corrupt system with no mandates or future lockdowns and for the fear-mongering bullshit, MSM propaganda to stop.”

The Daily Mail also reported another wrote: “Medical freedom. Equality. Basically, life as it was back in 2019.”

And well, I’m sure you get the gist.

Now, of course, some savvy social media guru from the Today team has turned off the comments and ended the drama.

Basically, instead of people mentioning they’d like a Dyson or perhaps a Gucci sweater from Mr Claus. The post prompted a flurry of anti-vaxxers to make their demands from Santa.

Still, what’s more, festive than a bunch of people disagreeing?
