Ten’s decision to dump struggling The Biggest Loser from its Sunday night programming has done little to lift its viewer ratings with the replacement show, Modern Family, snaring just 393,000 viewers according to OzTam audience figures.

In worse news for Ten, the broadcaster was again soundly beaten by the ABC into fourth position for the night.

Seven won the night with 33.1 per cent of the audience, then Nine with 28.9 per cent, ABC 19.3 per cent, Ten 12.1 per cent and SBS 6.5 per cent.

In the Married At First Sight/My Kitchen Rules match-up, it was Nine’s dating show that won the bragging rights with 1.16 million viewers over MKR’s 1.14 million.

Ten’s broadcast of the Australian Formula One was its highlight – although not in prime time – snaring 701,000 viewers. Modern Family was the network’s second most watched show with 393,000, which was almost 100,000 up on what The Biggest Loser was attracting.

Seven had a big win with its current affairs program Sunday Night that featured an interview with the controversial MKR host Pete Evans attracting 909,000 viewers. An addition of almost 200,000 on what the program typically attracts. Nine’s 60 Minutes landed 686,000 viewers.

Once again, Vera  was the top pick for the ABC with 780,000, followed by ABC News with 736,000 and Grand Designs with 675,000. My Year 12 Life again failed to pull viewers with only 108,000 and a re-run of Julia Zemiro’s Home Delivery managed just 88,000.
