Spikes Asia today announces that the 2021 awards will take place in February, bringing them forward to the first quarter of the year.
Judging for the Spikes Asia Awards, the region’s most prestigious creative branded communications accolade, as well as the Tangrams Awards and Young Spikes competitions will all take place in February 2021. In place of the live Awards ceremony, winners will be announced that month via the Spikes Asia online platform, along with the launch of the first Spikes Asia Creativity Report, presenting regional rankings and analysis of 2021 winners benchmarking creative excellence. Spikes Asia is judged by a diverse set of world-class juries from across APAC and the globe.
Atifa Silk, Managing Director at Haymarket Media Asia, comments: “Our decision to bring the Spikes Awards forward to February was made in consultation with our community. Our hope is that the move in date, along with the launch of the Spikes Asia Creativity Report, will support the APAC industry to benchmark their work at a regional level before Cannes Lions in June.”
In 2021, Spikes Asia will be awards-only with the Festival returning in February 2022. Silk added, “After a tumultuous period due to the impact of Coronavirus felt both globally and across APAC, we will run an awards-only celebration of creativity in 2021. The Festival will return in 2022 and we’re delighted to announce that we will bring the entire Festival forward to the first quarter to enhance the Spikes Asia experience for all.”
Dates to note for the 2021 Spikes Awards are as follows:
- In support of APAC young talent, the Young Spikes Competition (Integrated and Film categories) will be open to all creative young people aged 30 and younger.
