Small Businesses Drive Instagram’s Advertisers Over The Million Mark

Instagram has announced it has reached more than one million monthly active advertisers, thanks primarily to small businesses.

In a recent blog post, the Facebook-owned photo and video sharing app revealed its advertiser number was five times more than a year ago, with the majority of brands being small businesses.

“We now have eight million businesses using business profiles, with the greatest adoption coming from the United States, Brazil, Indonesia, Russia and the United Kingdom,” the blog read.

“In the last month, over 120 million Instagrammers visited a website, got directions, called, emailed or direct messaged to learn about a business.”

Instagram said it plans to do more to help people meaningfully connect with businesses they care about by offering more insights on stories, posts saved, and multi-post images.
