SEN Sports Radio Is Coming Sydney

One of Melbourne’s top sports radio channels is descending onto Sydney, with SEN announcing plans to launch in the harbour city later this year.

1170 SEN will carry the tagline “Sydney’s new Home of Sport” and will launch in October to coincide with the NRL grand final, State of Origin and summer of cricket.

The broadcast team will led by veteran sports broadcaster Andrew Voss.

Voss will host the new station’s breakfast show, with a host of other sports broadcasters set to be announced as part of SEN’s team in the coming weeks.

Crocmedia CEO Craig Hutchison congratulated Voss on the appointment.

“We are honoured and thrilled that Vossy will lead the charge when we launch,” he said.

“He has built a truly special connection with Sydney audiences not only as as the man voted the most popular rugby league caller in the country, but as one of sport’s great all-rounders including his coverage of both Summer and Winter Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, World Cups and championships as well as an array of sports from surfboat racing, to touch football, to triathlons and even bull riding.”

SEN will join the Sydney market following the departure of Macquarie Sports Radio.

However, it will still have to compete with Tabcorp’s Sky Sports Radio, which recently recruited former Test cricketer Michael Clarke to host its breakfast show.
