Football Federation Australia (FFA) has appointed Red Agency to manage PR and social strategy for Australia’s bid to host the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023.
Red Agency was awarded the account following a competitive pitch process, and further expands the agency’s credentials in the sports and leisure sector.
FFA has tasked Red Agency with leading and executing an integrated communications strategy that builds national awareness and encourages Australia to #GetOnside by registering their support for the bid at AusBid2023.com.
David Gallop, chief executive of FFA, said: “The FIFA Women’s World Cup is the largest and most competitive contest in women’s sport globally, and the opportunity to host the tournament on home soil will see a huge increase in participation and investment in women’s football.
“Red Agency delivered an excellent pitch and we look forward to working with them to make the dream come true and bring the FIFA Women’s World Cup to Australia in 2023.”
James Wright, CEO of Red Agency, said: “We recognise that this is a unique moment to unite a country behind the women’s game, elevate Australian football on the world stage and inspire future generations to be part of it, whether as players or fans.
“We are incredibly proud and honoured to have been selected and to be part of the team to deliver a winning bid.”
