Yes, it’s yet another story of radio jock Kyle Sandilands being unpleasant to a rival.

On the announcement of yesterday’s radio ratings, KISS FM’s Sandilands once again took to the airwaves to herald his (and Jackie O’s) impressive figures but also take another pop at his former employer – Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) – and, in particular, its struggling 2Day FM breakfast show hosted by Em Rusciano.

Rusciano’s show sank to just a 2.9 per cent audience share compared to FM heavyweights, Kyle and Jackie O, whose KIIS FM show boasted an 11.1 per cent audience share.

It comes on the back of last week’s news that Rusciano’s breakfast co-host, Harley Breen, announcing he would not return to the show in 2018 and, instead, head back to his stand-up comedy roots.

Sandilands telling his listeners: “2Day FM’s breakfast show has fallen even further behind than it already was” before adding he was prepared to buy SCA’s radio license for a mere $20.

He described Rusciano’s ratings as “disgusting” and “terrible” before adding, “You can’t make $1 with those ratings”.

2Day has struggled – particularly in the breakfast spot – ever since Sandilands and Jackie O jumped ship to the ARN-owned KISS in 2013. Sandilands has repeatedly claimed that SCA has tried to cajole him back to the network, however, he’s refused all offers.

However, Rusciano was having none of Sandiland’s jibes, taking to Facebook to air her side of things.

Rusciano wrote: “Dear Kyle Sandilands, I sold out the Opera house in 20 minutes last week, indeed my whole national tour sold out. My audio book is number one in the country, and my radio show has twice the engagement levels online than yours does.

“I don’t feel humiliated or pathetic in any way shape or form. The radio ratings will come, and the fact that you keep mentioning me on your show proves that you know it too. All the best buddy, Em.”

Sandilands, as yet, has not commented on the post.
