Panellist Almost Killed By Falling TV Set Live To Air

A Columbian football commentator is lucky to have escaped serious injury after being nailed by a falling piece of the set during a live studio broadcast.

Commentator Carlos Orduz was part of a seven-panel chat on ESPN Colombia when a large section of the wall gave away and collapsed down on top of him.

Studio cameras caught the horror moment before quickly panning back to the show’s host who looked on in stunned silence for several seconds before going to an ad break.

Another person off camera can be heard saying “tranquilo, tranquilo” – the Spanish word for “calm”.

Despite initial concerns for Orduz’s safety the plucky commentator later took to social media to inform concerned viewers he was okay.

“To those who wrote to me and greeted me about the accident last night, I must tell you that I am fine, thank God,” Orduz tweeted.

“After the medical check-up, the respective examinations, any issue was ruled out, only a bruise and a blow to the nose (no fracture). Greetings and thanks.”
