OMD has today announced the promotion of Thomas Hutley (main photo) to national head of OMD Create. OMD Create is one of OMD’s specialised business units (SBU). It is dedicated to creative solutions including content marketing, sponsorships, social and innovation, with the latest diversification including a sports partnerships arm. OMD Create works with McDonald’s, Coles, Suncorp, Telstra, AAMI, Estee Lauder Companies, NSW Government, Bacardi Martini Group and DuluxGroup.
OMD Create continues to adapt and diversify their service offering to deliver fully integrated solutions for their clients. Most recently, they have experienced success with their ‘fast content’ creative positioning and delivery of short-form creative solutions, optimised across mobile and social media formats. This was recognised in OMD Create being the first media agency in APAC to become a certified Facebook MobileWorks Creative Partner.
Hutley launched OMD Create in 2018 and has led the Sydney arm for three continuous years, which has delivered growth and award winning work for OMD clients. He will now oversee the OMD Create product across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane leading a team of 32 people. Hutley is tasked with expanding OMD Create’s capabilities nationally.
Aimee Buchanan, CEO, OMD Australia, commented: “Thomas has been pivotal in establishing the OMD Create propsition in Australia. Under his leadership, OMD Create has been seamlessly embedded within OMD’s offering providing our clients access to a breadth of innovative solutions.”
Hutley said of his promotion: “I’m thrilled to be working more closely with our OMD Create leads in Melbourne and Brisbane to expand our capability and evolve the OMD Create brand nationally. I look forward to seeing what more we can achieve together and to continue pushing the boundaries of creative work that we deliver for our clients.
Nathan Young, chief operating officer, OMD Australia commented: “Thomas has been with us for ten years and has gone from strength to strength over that time. He embodies the OMD ambition of driving performance for our clients, always done with integrity. This is clearly evident in the great work OMD Create continues to deliver for our clients and the industry recognition they have received.”
Thomas Hutley commenced the new role late 2020 and continues to report into Nathan Young, Chief Operating Officer, OMD Australia.
