Thursday TV Wrap: Seven’s Big Bash Semi Knocks Rivals For Six

Sure, Big Bash numbers have been down on last year, but last night’s semi-final between the Melbourne Stars and the Hobart Hurricanes did enough to help broadcaster Seven to a healthy Thursday night win.

The match – won by Melbourne – pulled 527,000 viewers last night according to OzTAM five city metro numbers.

With MAFS and MKR on hiatus, Network 10 also got to make some hay.

Gogglebox was the most watched entertainment show of the night, managing 575,000. While 10’s Changing Rooms – that had a disastrous debut on Wednesday night with just 204,000 viewers – improved to 298,000.

Again, Seven won Thursday with 31.7 per cent of the audience share. Nine had to settle for 25.6 per cent, 10 had 18.9 per cent, the ABC 16.8 per cent and SBS had seven per cent.

Seven’s other performers were its 6pm news (873,000) and The Chase (488,000).

For Nine, its best was its news bulletin (749,000), ACA (646,000), Hot Seat (378,000) and a re-run of the movie Jason Bourne (312,000).

10’s other standouts included 10 News First (334,000), The Project (323,000) and Pointless (181,000).

The ABC’s evening ran this way: 7pm news (595,000), Grand Designs Australia (345,000), Sammy J (267,000) and The Drum (161,000).

For SBS, its best was Secrets of the Manor House that pulled 233,000.
