Sacked Spanish Politician Strips Naked For Mag Cover To Restore Reputation

A Spanish politician who was sacked for allegedly rorting her expense claims has appeared naked on the cover of a magazine in an attempt to tell her side of the story.

Forty-three year old Carmen López – a former beauty queen – revealed all (and we mean “all”) to the magazine Interviú.

The furore erupted when López’s husband got a job in Chicago. But rather than give up her pollie job in Spain, López continued to jet back and forth from the States to Seville in Spain, claiming the lot on the taxpayer.

López argue she had the full support of the Council that employed her. However, it was her own party (Ciudadanos) that allegedly spilled the beans on López’s trans-Atlantic flights to try and oust her.

The Councillor also asked if she could appear at Council meetings via video conference, however, was rebuffed leaving the floundering pollie no other option but to get the gear off.

“I moved [to Chicago] out of absolute economic necessity … My husband, who is a philologist, was out of work, and I had dedicated my time exclusively to the Ciudadanos party and to local politics — without receiving a penny for it and being supported by my parents,” López told Interviú.

López is a former Miss Seville although her exact reason for the naked stunt is apparently unclear.
