Bachelor Host Osher Günsberg Wins Press Council Complaint
The host of Ten’s The Bachelor, Osher Günsberg, has successfully had a complaint against the Daily Mail Australia upheld after it was deemed unflattering photos published on its website were an invasion of his privacy.

In September last year, the Daily Mail published paparazzi photos of Günsberg shirtless while filming The Bachelor in Bali. Sadly for Günsberg the images showed his portly stomach with an accompanying headline that read: Günsberg shows of his “Bali belly”.
Günsberg complained to the Press Council that the images were taken without his permission and he was using anti-depression medication that had resulted in his weight gain. He had spoken about his depression publicly and even went on radio to describe his humiliation at the images, however, never contacted the Daily Mail himself.
The Press Council agreed that Günsberg is a public figure, however, he has not forfeited his right to privacy altogether and that the article did not relate to his public activities. It agreed there was no public interest to justify such an intrusion into Günsberg’s private life. The Daily Mail is yet to comment.
