Sandilands labels 2DayFM breakfast a 'mess'

Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O have hit out at former employer Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) in an explosive newspaper interview and on Facebook one week before they go to air with KIIS 1065.

In the Sunday Telegraph interview Sandilands described his replacement breakfast team at 2DayFM as a “mess”, SCA content director Guy Dobson a “f*** wit” and said his  new show will make it to FM number one in the first radio survey of the year.

Sandilands criticised the number of hosts on 2Day’s new breakfast show and said the “alpha personalities” of Jules Lund, Merrick Watts, Sophie Monk and Mel B will be a “massive mess”.

His insult to SCA’s Dobson was in response to Dobson describing the Breakfast with Stars show as “out of date” in an interview. Dobson described 2Day’s former show as “antiquated” in an interview with B&T, click here for more.

2Day’s new breakfast program started this morning (January 13) as did Nova’s Meshel and Tommy, a week ahead of Sandilands and Jackie O in a move Sandilands described as “desperate”.

Meanwhile, the war for the Kyle & Jackie O Facebook page continues.

Yesterday the duo launched a new Facebook page and the first post included some digs at their former employer, 2Day FM.

“2DayFM are trying to sneakily change the name of our old Kyle and Jackie O Facebook page to their new show without you knowing,” the post said. See below for more and click here.
