Line drives and foul balls for Forbes in 2013

A new article by Forbes that looks back over its past year is best understood through baseball metaphors.

With reference to the baseball movie Moneyball, Forbes investigates the ten areas in which it has ‘Line Drives’ (hard-hitting successes) and ‘Foul Balls’ (where things might not have gone according to plan.

According to Lewis DVorkin, Forbes’ audience reach saw an increase in 28% from January 2013 and noted that its quality is getting better and contributors are making more money.

DVokrin also deduced its 83 verified Twitter followers were a bit of a foul ball, and one area in which Forbes was hoping to better this year.

The use of mobiles, tablets and videos both saw line drives and foul balls, however one major line drive was being voted best magazine website by Webby.
