Hamish & Andy's Asian adventure wins million plus send off

The sweat and spider filled finale of Hamish & Andy’s Gap Year Asia pulled in 1.299 million viewers last night.

Taking the place of Australia’s Got Talent on Nine the comedic duo couldn’t dethrone Seven’s The X Factor but did beat Home and Away (983,000) and MasterChef (742,000) which started at 7.30 pm.

The X Factor won the night with 1.495 million viewers, according to OzTam’s preliminary metro ratings.

The X Factor allowed Seven to claim the largest slice of all free-to-air viewers, taking a 30.8% share ahead of Nine’s 29.2%.

Seven’s Mr Selfridge (789,000) at 8.40 came second to Big Brother on 910,000.

The ABC had a strong night with seven in the top 20, its top performing were ABC News (889,000), Australian Story (767,000) and 7.30 (744,000).

Its strong Monday evening lineup saw the ABC take 18.6% of all FTA viewers, ahead of Ten’s 16.3%.

SBS claimed 5.1%.
