Australia's Got Talent finale the ratings winner

Australia’s Got Talent (AGT) found itself on top of the ratings last night as the winner announced episode pulled in 1.391 million fans to Nine.

AGT ran from 6.30 to 8pm on Sunday night with the first half of the program sitting in fourth place with 1.166 million viewers.

AGT crowned a strong ratings result for Nine which saw the network win the night with a total 31.6% share of all free-to-air viewers, according to OzTam’s preliminary metro ratings.

The network’s primary channel pulled in 24.8%.

Following AGT was Nine’s 60 Minutes, in second place the program pulled in 1.279 million people.

Seven’s most watched show was Seven News (1.174  million) as Dancing with the Stars was left with 1.075 million viewers in sixth place thanks to AGT.

Seven sat on a total 29.2% share of all viewers with 20.3% for the network’s primary channel.

Ten had a strong night with seven programs in the top 20. Elementary was Ten’s most watched, in eighth place the Sherlock Holmes drama won over 692,000 viewers.

A repeat of Modern Family also made it into the top 10 most watched shows with 611,000 viewers.

David Attenborough’s Natural Curiosities (552,000), Ten Eyewitness News (496,000), The Graham Norton Show (460,000) and Have You Been Paying Attention? (420,000) all featured in the top 20.

Ten took a total 18.4% share of viewers with 12.1% for the network’s primary channel.

The commercial network outperformed the ABC which sat on a total 13.7% with 9.9% for ABC1.

SBS was left with 7.3% with 6.5% for SBS ONE.
