MEC Retains $30 Million SA Government Brand Campaign

MEC has retained the South Australian Government brand campaign business, worth $30m, as well as winning the ‘functional’ non-campaign component of the account from incumbent Starcom MediaVest.

MEC has held the campaign portion on the account since 2010. The functional account will be handled in partnership with WPP sister agency Blaze.

Winning the entire account continues a successful run for MEC, including the addition of the $60m Nestlé account at the end of 2014 and the agency’s national footprint expansion with new offices in Melbourne and Brisbane.

Peter Bucklow, managing director of MEC Adelaide, said: “We are delighted to be able to continue our media partnership with the South Australian Government.It is a credit to the hard work of our MEC team, led by Matt Hofmeyer, which has been able to forge strong relationships across all areas of Government while delivering quality channel solutions.

“The volatile media landscape presents many challenges for all clients and we look forward to helping the SA Government navigate this ever-changing environment.”

MEC Australia CEO Peter Vogel added: “The inclusion of functional advertising in this contract will give us a broader whole of Government perspective. We are excited to be working with Blaze Advertising, the most awarded recruitment advertising agency in Australia, to usher in a new era of Government functional advertising.”
