Creative agency McCann has announced the appointment of Georgie Pownall as its new managing director for Melbourne.
With over 20 years’ experience in marketing and advertising, Pownall (pictured above) joins McCann most recently from Publicis Mojo. She has also worked for several other agencies such as The Campaign Palace, DDB, Saatchi & Saatchi, and CHE.
Futhermore, Pownall previously held the role of product manager for the iconic Barbie brand.
Pownall replaces Anita Deutsch-Burley, who resigned from McCann in August after less than a year in the Melbourne MD role.
McCann Australia CEO Nicole Taylor said: “Georgie is an inspiring leader, whose passion for creativity is infectious and will be instrumental in bringing to life our shared vision for McCann Melbourne.”
“Anita is highly-respected and made a significant contribution to our Melbourne business. We wish her much personal success in the future.
Commenting on her appointment, Pownall said: “I’m extremely excited to enter McCann at such a formative time. McCann Melbourne has enormous growth potential and continues to be a proven creative powerhouse.”
