Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Partners With Red Havas To Support WorldPride 2023 Bid

Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras (SGLMG) has today announced the appointment of communications agency, Red Havas and Havas Blvd to help promote its WorldPride bid for 2023.

Red Havas is charged with developing an impactful strategic public relations campaign with influencer marketing and digital content development at its core, to promote the SGLMG’s bid for WorldPride 2023. The aim is to engage LGBTIQ+ organisations and the wider general public across APAC and the rest of the globe.

The activity will highlight why a vote for Sydney would mean, not only the first WorldPride to ever take place in the Southern Hemisphere, but also a place where people around the country and across the region, can join the celebration in a safe and secure place.

The activity is being headed up by Reema Babakhan, head of lLifestyle and Mary Proulx, social media director at Red Havas.

Babakhan said: “Red Havas has a strong history of supporting diverse organisations and delivering meaningful work that will have a genuine impact on communities, big and small. This partnership has meant a lot to the LGBTIQ+ community members within our workforce and as a long-standing LGBTIQ+ supporter, Red Havas is pleased to partner with SGLMG and provide them with PR, social and influencer marketing expertise to help tell and amplify their story. We can’t wait to help support them on what we hope will be a winning bid.”

Robyn Kennedy, chair of the WorldPride Bid Committee, added: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Red Havas who have demonstrated a strong commitment to LGBTIQ+ causes and providing an impactful and meaningful contribution to the bid. It is only by the support of organisations like Red Havas that the not-for-profit sector can continue its great work. We hope to see organisations across the globe support our bid and look forward to hosting the first WorldPride in the Southern Hemisphere.”
