JB Hi-Fi Makes List Of The World’s Top 250 Retailers Alongside Wesfarmers & Woolies

Aussie consumer electronics retail giant JB Hi-Fi has muscled its way into Deloitte’s list of the top 250 retailers across the globe, joining local supermarket groups Wesfarmers and Woolworths.

JB Hi-Fi featured on the Global Powers of Retailing Top 250 list for the first time this year in 218th spot based on revenue for FY16, which it grew by 42.3 per cent.

Deloitte noted that JB Hi-Fi’s acquisition of The Good Guys in November 2016, contributed to the company’s significant revenue gain.

Wesfarmers (which owns Coles and Bunnings) was Australia’s top performer on the list in 21st place, followed closely behind by Woolies in 23rd position.

The top five retailers in Deloitte’s list remained unchanged, with Wal-Mart (US), Costco (US), The Kroger Co. (US), Shwarz Group (Germany), and Walgreens Boots Alliance all holding firm.

Unsurprisingly, the big mover in the top 10 was Amazon, leaping four places to sixth.
