“Sick & Perverted!” Aussie Retailer Slammed For Appalling Auschwitz Range

An Australian-based online retailer has been condemned for selling items such as pillows, mini skirts, tote bags and coffee mugs printed with images of the infamous Nazi concentration camp, Auschwitz.

The Auschwitz Memorial – based in Poland – led the chorus of complaints with a tweet that read: “Do you really think that selling such products as pillows, mini skirts or tote bags with the images of Auschwitz – a place of enormous human tragedy where over 1.1 million people were murdered – is acceptable? This is rather disturbing and disrespectful.”

Redbubble sells items such as fashion and homewares that are created by independent designers and artists.

Its “holocaust” range included an Auschwitz Birkenau Railway Lines travel mug, an Auschwitz concentration camp graphic T-shirt and throw pillow, a “Chimney mini skirt,” and a “Last Walk tote bag”.

Social media immediately reacted to the range being for sale, labelling it “sick and perverted”.

Yesterday, Redbubble responded to the furore with the tweet: “Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The nature of this content is not acceptable and is not in line with our Community Guidelines.

“We are taking immediate action to remove these and similar works available on these product types.”
