ASX-listed digital services firm Asia Pacific Digital (APD) has announced two strategic senior appointments to support the growth in helping its clients transform their business in an increasingly digital-first world.

Scott Player (pictured above) has been appointed chief executive of APD Australia effective immediately. He has 18 years’ experience spanning technology, marketing, media, creative, digital and start-ups.

Player joins APD from Ansible, the mobile/technology arm of IPG Mediabrands. Prior to that, he founded a number of digital businesses including digital agency Airborne and ordering and payments app Hey You.

Ines Almeida also joins APD in the newly-created role of head of digital transformation. In this role, Almeida will help existing APD clients define and execute digital transformation projects, as well as work with new business teams on new opportunities.

Almeida joins APD from Sapient Nitro, where she held the role of client services director and NSW general manager, and prior that she worked at Thoughtworks.

APD group chief executive Newton Smith said: “We have been able to attract some phenomenal talent over the past 18 months.

“The addition of both Scott and Ines will strengthen our Australian leadership team, continue our evolution to a consultative based digital business and further position APD as an independent leader in the Australia digital services market.

“I’m really excited to see the impact both Ines and Scott will have on APD in 2017 and beyond.”

Commenting on his new role, Player said: “I strongly believe in finding things you’re passionate about, putting a huge amount of focus and effort into making them happen, and doing them with great people around you while having fun along the way.

“APD combines many of my passions including people/culture, technology and problem-solving, and I’m honoured to be leading the talented Australian team from July.”

Almeida said: “I’m delighted to join Newton, Scott and a highly capable team, committed to delivering great results for clients. I’m looking forward to working with our clients to unlock meaningful and focused innovation in their business and operating models.”
