Local Editions Of Women’s & Men’s Health Magazine To Close; 12 Staff To Be Made Redundant

Independent publisher Paragon Media has announced the closure of its titles Women’s Health and Men’s Health Magazines – both print and online editions.

News Corp is reporting the publisher will close both titles due to “personal reasons and part commercial reasons” with the loss of a reported dozen jobs in editorial and sales.

Sydney-based publisher Paragon resurrected the long-running fitness titles in February last year after previous owner Bauer (now Are Media) closed them in July 2020.

The titles are owned by Hearst in the US and done under license here in Australia.

At the height of its powers, Men’s Health was published in 35 countries and Women’s Health in 13.

News Corp are reporting staff will work a further two weeks to fulfil editorial obligations and be given full redundancies.

Paragon Media has yet to comment publicly on the closures and B&T has contacted the publisher for further comment.
