Lisa Millar To Take Over From Virginia Trioli As ABC’s News Breakfast Co-Host

The ABC has announced the appointment of journalist Lisa Millar to the role of co-host alongside Michael Rowland on News Breakfast.

She will be taking over from current co-host Virginia Trioli who will be replacing Jon Faine on Melbourne Mornings radio show.

Millar will commence her role as the new co-host from August.

Rowland announced the news on TV this morning after flagging last night on Twitter he would be sharing the news live today.

He said he was very pleased Millar was taking over from Trioli, as the pair have worked together on and off at the ABC for 23 years.

Trioli, who began her career in radio, has been on the News Breakfast sofa since 2008.

This is the second TV host shakeup for the ABC after the public broadcaster recently announced David Speers would be taking over from Barrie Cassidy as the host of Insiders.
