Rumour has it that Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) is offering the Radio shock-jocks, Kyle and Jackie O, a $12 million bounty to come back to the station which made them stars.
If the deal is for real, it would see the pair return to the breakfast slot on the newly rebranded Hit 104.1 2Day network — formerly 2Day FM — in 2017.
Sandilands told a News Corp publication, that it would take a lot more than money to get him to move stations twice in three years. However Sandilands added: “I like that figure though — $12 million a year is a nice number.”
Sandilands added: “I just don’t jump through hoops for money any more. But I’m happy for Southern Cross to throw money at us because whatever they throw, ARN will throw more back so it just drives my price up.”
A spokesman for Australian Radio Network, the company which poached Kyle and Jackie O, said: “ARN does not comment on specific agreements. Kyle and Jackie O have achieved great success at ARN and KIIS 1065 and we are focused on our strategy of building on that success.”
Kyle and Jackie O are contracted to ARN to the end of 2016.
