Cereal giant Kellogg’s has launched Federal Court action against Aussie tennis star Thanasi Kokkinakis over his plans to use ‘Special K’ as part of a brand campaign for clothing and tennis wear.
According to News Corp, a directions hearing is set to take place in court today in Adelaide, and comes more than a year after Kellogg’s first lodged the case against Kokkinakis’ Special K trademark, which happens to be owned by a company that’s controlled by his father, Trevor.
However, Kokkinakis doesn’t seem to be too concerned with the legal action from Kellogg’s, posting the following tweet this morning.

Kokkinakis and his regular doubles partner Nick Kyrgios were affectionately dubbed the ‘Special Ks’ way back in 2015 by the Aussie media.
An unofficial Twitter account has also been created to honour the duo as the ‘Special Ks’, according to News Corp.
