Katy Perry’s Festive Spot For Gap Is The Cheesy, Pop Fun You Need In Your Life

Katy Perry’s Festive Spot For Gap Is The Cheesy, Pop Fun You Need In Your Life

American youth brand Gap has enlisted none other than Katy Petty to front its annual Christmas campaign.

Called “All Together Now”, the 37-year-old singer has even recorded a version of The Beatles’ All You Need Is Love for the minute-long spot.

For every stream of Perry’s track on Spotify, Gap has promised to donate $US1 (up to $US100,000) to the nonprofit charity Baby2Baby – a charity organisation that provides children living in poverty with basic necessities.

The new work is the brainchild of Gap’s in-house creative team and was directed by famed film and music video maker Mark Romanek whose rather impressive credits include videos for the likes of Nine Inch Nail’s Closer, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Can’t Stop, Madonna’s Rain and Taylor Swift’s Shake it Off.

The campaign will run on TV and streaming video and includes OOH and digital ads. Sadly the spot won’t run in Australia after the retailer pulled the pin on its local operations back in 2018 after five difficult years of trading.
