Media reports said most of the eggs missed the assembled media throng in the western Sydney suburb of Merrylands, however, one unlucky Nine reporter had a near yolky miss live to air.

Natalie Cooper was reporting from outside the house of one of the five people arrested before she had to dodge the attack. Earlier, a young woman (believed to be related to one of the arrested men) was seen jostling, threatening and jabbing at waiting reporters before police were forced to intervene.

The egg throwers reportedly came from a nearby house, however, ran inside when police went to investigate.
