The Gritty Pretty December issue starring Australian music superstar Jessica Mauboy is now live.

The proud Kuku Yalanji and Wakaman woman’s star power is radiating brighter than ever. She’s a judge on The Voice has new music about to explode and she’s been beloved since she appeared on Australian Idol.

With a captivating new album, Mauboy speaks exclusively to Gritty Pretty beauty director and executive editor Danielle Gay about the next phase of her career and her personal life.

Gritty Pretty founder and publisher Eleanor Pendleton said: “I challenge anyone to find a more down to earth, talented and inspiring Australian than Jessica Mauboy.

“It is an honour to have her cover our special summer issue.”

Mauboy opened up about her new music and recent engagement, Mauboy said: “It felt like such a journey to rebuild, expand, and grow… That’s what Glow was.

“It’s about owning what you know, and not trying to speak for anybody else—it’s about a personal connection with yourself and a reassurance.

“I think that’s the beauty of this song, because you could feel sexy dancing to this song, but you could also feel so empowered, and boss, and in control.”

Mauboy also added: “You know when you just know that someone loves you so much and they’ve stuck around that long? I think that’s why the wedding plans popped in and then they just went away… It’s crazy to think that I’ve been with my partner for 14 years.

“We’ve had our ups and downs, we’ve done our long distance. We’ve been living under the same roof for the last seven years and we’ve worked it out. We know each other well, inside and out.”

With over 90+ pages, the Gritty Pretty summer issue features the annual Gritty Pretty Christmas gift guide, tips for repairing damaged hair, and an investigation into the trend of sober curiosity.

Plus, much, much more. Gritty Pretty is Australia’s first digital magazine, founded by Eleanor Pendleton in 2015.
