Iconic Aussie Kids Show ‘Round The Twist’ Coming To Netflix

From Saturday 1st May, Round The Twist – famed for its lighthouse setting, eternally hummable theme tune and wacky plots – will be on Australian Netflix.

Originally airing from 1990 to 2001, Round The Twist was an essential tool in the wheelhouse of any teacher stuck with what to show a class of rowdy students on a rainy lunchtime.

Beloved by many at the time, the show has seen a cultural resurgence in recent years as Australians began sharing some of the unique plotlines aired on the show.

The show follows the misadventures of the Twist family: an eccentric sculptor father Tony twist and his three kids, twins Pete and Linda, and their younger brother Bronson.

Particular highlights include the infamous cabbage patch baby, magic underwear, or the time when a fish got stuck in one of the character’s penises and helped him win a swimming competition.

All four of the show’s seasons will be on the platform, allowing the show to reach an audience who may be unfamiliar with plot twists such as Pete getting pregnant after peeing on a tree. Ah, the 90s.
